Seeking Advice: How to Address Lack of Communication from Grandchild
Dear Society Members,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Walter, and I am reaching out to you all for some guidance regarding an issue that has been weighing on my heart. Twice a year, I send a sum of money to my eldest grandson, Louis, as a gesture of love and to help him with any of his needs. However, despite my attempts to support him, I have not received any form of communication from him – no phone call, no letter, not even a message.
This situation leaves me feeling disconnected and saddened, as I cherish family relationships and believe in the importance of staying in touch. I understand that young people today have different communication habits, but the complete lack of response has made me question if I am doing something wrong or if there might be other underlying issues that I am not aware of.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to approach this situation. Should I continue sending money without any expectations? Or should I try to establish some ground rules for communication? I am also considering the possibility of reaching out directly to discuss my feelings, but I am unsure how to do so without causing any discomfort or seeming too demanding.
Thank you in advance for your insights and advice. I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards,
Walter
